Tamil Nadu is actively advancing its aerospace and defense sectors by establishing specialized industrial parks to foster growth and attract investment. The Tamil Nadu Aerospace and Defence Industrial Policy 2022 aims to position the state as a preferred destination for investment, innovation, and the creation of products and services in these sectors.
The Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO), in collaboration with the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT), has developed a 250-acre Aerospace and Defence Industrial Park in Sriperumbudur. This park is equipped with essential infrastructure, including roads, stormwater drainage, and electricity, to support aerospace and defense manufacturing activities.
In addition to Sriperumbudur, the state is making significant progress in establishing aerospace and defense parks in Coimbatore. The government is expediting land acquisition and infrastructure development to support the ‘KovaiRising’ initiative, which aims to generate employment and enhance regional infrastructure.
These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to create a robust ecosystem for aerospace and defense manufacturing in Tamil Nadu, leveraging its skilled workforce and strategic location to attract global players and foster innovation in the sector.
