The Aerospace Industry Development Association of Tamil Nadu (AIDAT), established in 2016, has been instrumental in promoting and developing the aerospace and defense industry ecosystem in the state. Led by industry veterans with extensive experience both domestically and internationally, AIDAT focuses on engaging with various stakeholders to bring business opportunities to Tamil Nadu’s aerospace and defense sectors.
AIDAT’s primary objectives include positioning Tamil Nadu as a hub for aerospace and defense industries in India, encompassing design, development, manufacturing, and support services. The association collaborates with the Tamil Nadu government on policy-related issues and strives to create an end-to-end ecosystem for the aerospace and defense sector within the state.
In recent developments, AIDAT has been actively involved in organizing conferences to explore business avenues for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the aerospace and naval domains. A conference held in Coimbatore, for instance, aimed to foster collaboration and highlight growth opportunities for industries and academic institutions in Tamil Nadu, particularly in these sectors. The event attracted over 100 industrial units and academic members, emphasizing expectations and business opportunities with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and procurement processes in the aerospace and naval sectors.
Through these initiatives, AIDAT continues to play a pivotal role in driving the growth and development of Tamil Nadu’s aerospace and defense industry, contributing to the state’s economic advancement and technological progress.
