TruAlt to Build One of World’s Largest Sustainable Aviation Fuel Plants in India

In a major step toward advancing green aviation, TruAlt Energy has announced plans to establish one of the world’s largest Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production facilities in India. The plant, expected to be operational by 2025, will significantly boost the country’s capacity to produce SAF, aligning with global efforts to decarbonize the aviation industry and India’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.

The state-of-the-art facility will utilize biomass, agricultural waste, and non-edible oils as feedstocks to produce SAF with up to 80% lower carbon emissions compared to conventional jet fuels. With an annual production capacity of 500 million liters, the plant will cater to both domestic airlines and international markets, positioning India as a key player in the global SAF supply chain.

This project supports India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India) initiative by fostering energy self-sufficiency and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. It also complements government policies promoting biofuel adoption under the National Bio-Energy Policy. TruAlt’s investment is expected to generate thousands of jobs, stimulate local economies, and drive innovation in renewable energy technologies.

The SAF plant will play a critical role in meeting the rising demand for sustainable fuels as airlines worldwide adopt greener practices to combat climate change. By establishing this facility, TruAlt is setting a benchmark for large-scale SAF production, positioning India as a leader in sustainable aviation solutions and contributing to the global push for environmentally responsible air travel.
