Tamil Nadu, aiming to establish itself as a leading hub for aerospace and defense manufacturing, organized a high-profile Aerospace and Defence Roundtable in Bengaluru. The event was designed to showcase the state’s robust industrial ecosystem, investor-friendly policies, and strategic initiatives to attract major investments from both domestic and global players.
State officials highlighted Tamil Nadu’s Aerospace and Defence Industrial Policy, which offers lucrative incentives, including tax exemptions, subsidies, and support for R&D projects. Key industrial clusters like Chennai, Hosur, and Coimbatore were promoted as ideal locations for manufacturing and innovation, equipped with advanced infrastructure and skilled labor.
During the roundtable, industry leaders from companies such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Bharat Electronics expressed interest in Tamil Nadu’s growing aerospace and defense ecosystem. Discussions also focused on emerging technologies, including unmanned aerial systems, artificial intelligence in defense, and hypersonic propulsion systems.
This initiative aligns with the central government’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ programs, aiming to boost domestic defense production and reduce reliance on imports. Tamil Nadu, already a leader in auto manufacturing and electronics, is leveraging its expertise to attract investments in the high-tech defense and aerospace sectors.
