HFCL Limited has inaugurated an advanced defense equipment manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, marking a significant step toward enhancing India’s self-reliance in defense manufacturing. This facility is dedicated to producing cutting-edge technologies, including Thermal Weapon Sights, Electronic Fuzes, High Capacity Radio Relay (HCRR) systems, and Surveillance Radars, all designed to meet the evolving needs of India’s armed forces.
The new facility boasts impressive production capabilities, with an annual capacity to manufacture up to 5,000 Thermal Weapon Sights, 250,000 Electronic Fuzes, and 1,000 units each of HCRR systems and Ground Surveillance Radars. To ensure the highest standards of quality and reliability, the facility includes specialized 10,000 Class and 100,000 Class clean rooms dedicated to the production of Thermal Imaging Core and Thermal Weapon Sights.
HFCL’s Thermal Weapon Sights are compatible with various small arms, such as rifles, light machine guns, and rocket launchers. These sights offer features like high-resolution imaging, lightweight design, extended battery endurance, and compliance with stringent military standards. The Electronic Fuzes encompass Percussion, Proximity, and Time Fuzes, engineered for precision and adaptability, meeting critical defense requirements with advanced programmable features and safety mechanisms. The HCRR systems support secure and high-speed communication at 100 Mbps, featuring Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multi-Point configurations, adaptive power control, and Frequency Hopping to ensure secure, long-range data transmission in challenging environments. The Surveillance Radars utilize FMCW technology to offer rapid detection of threats such as moving persons, vehicles, and even crawling targets, making them ideal for border security, perimeter monitoring, and counter-drone operations.
This strategic initiative underscores HFCL’s commitment to innovation, excellence, and national progress. The facility aims to deliver world-class defense technologies to armed forces, enabling them to operate with greater efficiency and confidence in critical missions.
